Daikoku Car Meet Tour: Ride to Daikoku PA in a Nissan GT-R

The Daikoku car meet has no tickets, no schedule and no way in without a car. This is the way in: a Nissan GT-R or Skyline, a driver who is there every week, and a route that also takes in the Bayshore Route and Tokyo Tower — for ¥26,000 per person, everything included.

Why a tour is how most visitors get to the Daikoku car meet

Daikoku Parking Area sits on an artificial island under the expressway interchange in Yokohama. It has no pedestrian entrance, no station, no bus stop and taxis are not allowed to drop passengers inside. The only ways in are a rental car — which needs a Japanese licence or a 1949-Geneva International Driving Permit, plus a deposit — or a passenger tour. Our Daikoku car meet guide covers the access rules in detail.

A tour also solves the second problem: knowing which night to go. We are there every week, so we know when it is worth it, when the police are likely to close the entrance, and where to park for the photo.

What time does the Daikoku car meet happen — and when do we go?

There is no official time. Cars gather from around 19:00, peak between about 20:00 and 23:00 on Friday and Saturday, and police often clear the lot from 21:00 onward when it overflows. Our 19:00 departure puts you at Daikoku by roughly 19:50, inside the good window and before the most common closure time. Weeknights are quieter but almost never closed, and you get the cars to yourself for photos. See the schedule, ranked by night and hour.

Daikoku car meet tickets and price — what you actually pay for

There are no tickets. The meet is a free public rest area with no organiser. What costs money is getting there and back in a car that belongs at the meet. In 2026 Tokyo tours run roughly ¥15,000–¥36,000 per person or ¥60,000–¥90,000 per car; our price guide compares the models. With GTR MAFIA TOKYO the price is ¥26,000 or ¥36,000 per person, flat, and the car is a GT-R or Skyline rather than whatever is free that night.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a Daikoku car meet tour cost?

GTR MAFIA TOKYO charges 26,000 yen per person for the Random Plan and 36,000 yen per person for the Premium Plan with a guaranteed GT-R. Both include the car, driver, fuel, tolls and parking for three hours. Other Tokyo operators charge roughly 15,000 to 36,000 yen per person or 60,000 to 90,000 yen per car in 2026.

Do I need tickets for the Daikoku car meet?

No. Daikoku PA is a free public rest area with no organiser. You only pay for transport. A passenger tour is the practical option for visitors because the area has no pedestrian, train, bus or taxi access.

What time does the Daikoku car meet tour depart?

The standard departure is 19:00 from Shibuya, arriving at Daikoku PA around 19:50, inside the busiest window and before the most common police closure times. Other departure times, including late at night, can be arranged.

Can I go to the Daikoku car meet without a driving licence?

Yes, on a passenger tour. GTR MAFIA TOKYO's driver drives; you ride in the passenger seat. No Japanese licence, International Driving Permit or driving experience is needed.

What if Daikoku PA is closed on the night of my tour?

Police occasionally close the entrance on very busy nights. When that happens the tour goes to Umihotaru PA on the Tokyo Bay Aqua-Line instead. The tour length and price do not change.

Which night is best for a Daikoku car meet tour?

Friday and Saturday have the most cars but also the highest closure risk and heaviest traffic. Weeknights are quieter, rarely closed and better for photos of your own car. Sunday mornings show classic and exotic cars rather than tuners.

Is the Daikoku car meet tour in a GT-R or a random car?

It is always a Nissan Skyline or GT-R. The Random Plan draws from R32, R33, R34, R34 GT-R and R35; the Premium Plan guarantees an R34 GT-R or R35 GT-R. There are no Supras, RX-7s or Silvias in the fleet.
